Golspie's Trawler restaurant and takeaway wins 'best fish and chips' business accolade
A SUTHERLAND fish and chip restaurant and takeaway has won a regional business award .
The Trawler in Golspie picked up the best fish and chip shop award for the Highlands in the 2023 Scotland's Business Awards.
Representatives from the Trawler were presented with a handsome framed certificate at an awards ceremony in Inverness on Sunday, March 26.
Joanna Gray of the Trawler said: "We are heading to Glasgow in November for the Scottish finals! It's come at a great time for us as we've literally just reopened the restaurant and so far everything is so positive."
The Scotland's Business Awards is an independent regional and national competition, with nominations made by the public.
Members of the public can vote for a business, but it is only one factor – organisers say of "greater importance are the mystery shopper visits and our own visits to the business".
A total of 16 regional award shows are staged. Business owners and managers across Scotland are often visited in their place of business.
Social media users were thrilled with the Trawler's win, saying it was "well deserved" and posting about the quality of the food.
