Golspie Action Flood Group to hold community engagement session tonight





Golspie Flood Action Group is to hold an open community information session this evening.

Group coordinator Henrietta Marriott, who is also chairperson of Golspie Community Council, said: “The purpose of the meeting is to update local people on the progress we have made in 2024 and what has been achieved. We will also set out our goals for 2025 and the ultimate aim of the flood project.”

The two-hour information session will consist of a short presentation followed by a question and answer session and open discussion. It will be held in the community lounge at Golspie High Schol from 7pm-9pm.

The flood group is campaigning for politicians and statutary agencies along with stakeholders to develop and implement a village-wide flood management plan, and to support all residents whose properties are at risk of flooding with individual flood protection measures.

The group is a subgroup of the community council and has a varied membership.
