Flight disruption at Inverness Airport as UK air traffic control system hit by technical issue
Passengers at Inverness Airport are facing disruption due to a technical issue which has hit UK air traffic control systems.
Today's incoming and outgoing flight between Inverness and Amsterdam has been cancelled while flights to and from Luton, Bristol, Belfast, Gatwick and Heathrow have been delayed.
Thousands of people around the UK are facing flight delays after National Air Traffic Services confirmed it was experiencing technical issues and had applied traffic flow restrictions to maintain safety.
Engineers are working to find and fix the fault.
A HIAL spokesperson said: "Inverness airport like many other airports across the country has been affected by the issues with the national UK air traffic control system, with a number of flights experiencing delays.
"The airport team is working closely with our airline partners to manage the delays.
"Passengers should continue to check with their airline for information regarding their flight."
