Family affair for singer-songwriter Grace Morton after ‘warm welcome’ at Doll Community Hall
It was a family affair for singer-songwriter Grace Morton, as three generations of her family played their part in her Saturday night concert at Doll Community Hall in Brora.
Glasgow-based performer Grace, who spent many childhood holidays in Brora with her grandparents Dennis and Isobel Pryde, was joined on stage by her dad, Dave Morton, who provided backing vocals and played bass guitar throughout her set.

The next generation also had a moment in the spotlight.
Grace’s 12-year-old cousin Freya Pryde gave her first ever public performance during the interval, playing a piano piece for the audience while they enjoyed home baking and a cup of tea.
Reflecting on her ties to the village, Grace said:“I had lovely holidays in Brora at my grandparents Dennis and Isobel Pryde whilst growing up.
“There is nothing better than playing a gig in a village hall - it doesn't get better than their warmth, welcoming feel and being able to eat your Granny's home baking at the interval.”
Also in attendance were Grace’s mum, Lynn Pryde, and her granny, Isobel Pryde, making it a true family gathering.
Indie-folk musician Lewis McLaughlin opened the evening with a set of new material before joining Grace on stage.
The pair, who worked on Grace’s latest track – “Dawn” – together last December, will next perform with a full band at Skyelive on May 9.
Doll Community Association Chair Ewen Pryde said, “It was fantastic to see the event so well attended and to hear the hall's new sound system being tried out by a live act for the first time.”
Grace's debut EP “Ghost” is available to stream and to purchase on Bandcamp.
