Fairy themed story walk in Camore Woods at Dornoch holds children spellbound
A fairy themed story walk in Camore Woods, Dornoch, held pre-school children spellbound.
The youngsters made fairy wands out of sticks and hunted for fairy doors hidden in the woods to take home and decorate. Jason Ubych, curator at Tain and District Museum told fairy tales.
Dornoch Firth Group (DFG), in partnership with Think Nature Health Walks and the Highland Third Sector Interface (HTSI), run fortnighly themed walks in Camore Woods during term time.
Funded by the NHS Highland and the Lottery Community Fund, the free events are aimed at the 0-5 year olds and include an activity, stories, songs and a snack.
Around 10 adults and 12 children enjoyed the fairy tale walk, held last Monday during Mental Health Awareness Week - the theme of which was movement. Walk leaders are DFG community projects coordinator Jen Smith and Kelly Noble, families and communities assistant.
