Easter Ross Musical Theatre leaves audience All Shook Up

It was a fun and lively production that charmed its audience and sent them home feeling they had enjoyed a great night out.

Easter Ross Musical Theatre hit all the right notes with its latest production All Shook Up, a musical comedy based on the music of Elvis Presley.

Chad (Shaun Cowan) gave an accomplished performance.

Oh-so-cool roustabout Chad (Shaun Cowan) roars into a buttoned-up town on his motor bike. With gyrating hips he immediately contravenes the three rules - no public necking, no loud music and no tight pants.

Loosely based on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, it is a tale of convoluted love.

Local mechanic Natalie (Rosanna Burton) falls in love with Chad who falls in love with Miss Sandra (Leanne Swann) who in turn falls in love with Natalie pretending to be ‘Ed’...... and there are even more mismatched couples.

Two scenes were particularly clever - the one in which Dean (Derek Brown) is forced to catch a bus and leave his love Lorraine (Catriona MacRae) and another starring Miss Sandra and featuring living statues.

The bus scene was one of the highlights of the show.

At the end of the last night, group chairwoman Anne Hurst said the cast had “such fun” making the production. And that shone through.
