Drivers warned of high winds on Dornoch Bridge
Drivers are advised to take care when crossing the Dornoch, Kessock and Skye bridges today because of high winds.
The winds will become stronger later today, rising to gale-force.
Traffic Scotland say that showers will be frequent across the west especially inland parts of the north west Highlands and Lochaber, where they may be quite lengthy too, with some surface water and spray.
Fewer showers in the east and dry for much of the time from Inverness across to Nairn, though scattered heavy showers are possible.
There will be fresh to strong south westerly winds, veering westerly later.
Tonight most showers will be found in the north west Highlands and Caithness, with a few reaching the east.
The showers will become light and scattered later in the night with strong north westerly winds, gusts 45-50mph at first around Wick and Thurso, gradually easing.
