Dornoch BID (Business Improvement District) is behind the festival, which has a packed programme of events and activities.

The BID was established in 2024 after businesses voted in favour of it the previous November.

A BID spokesperson said the aim was to focus on celebrating the “food, whisky, golf, history and culture of Dornoch and the surrounding area”.

There will be historical talks and tours, seafood cookery demonstrations, activities for all ages, traditional music and ceilidhs, as well as whisky distillery visits and wine and whisky tastings.

An Easter family fun day will be held on April 19.

Organisations putting on events include Dornoch musuem, Historylinks, and the UHI Centre for History.

One of the first events is a walking tour of historic Dornoch with Professor David Worthington and Philip Paris, author of The Last Witch of Scotland.

An Autumn Highland Festival Fortnight is also planned and will run from October 23-November 5.
