Dornoch author's romantic comedies in demand
Dornoch author Liz Treacher is soaring up the Amazon best-seller lists.
Her romantic comedy The Wrong Envelope is currently ranked by the online retailer as amongst its top 25 favourite humorous fiction books.
It has been given a four and a half out of five star rating by readers and also ranks well in the historical literature and historical romance categories.
Mrs Treacher, a literacy and creative writing tutor at Brora Learning Zone, has written two romantic comedies with The Wrong Envelope her debut novel, and its sequel The Wrong Direction.
Set in Devon, England, in 1920. It tells the story of Bernard, an impulsive young artist and Evie, his determined post lady.
Full of twists and turns, The Wrong Envelope uses humour and irony to explore the difficult position women found themselves in after the First World War.
A keen art photographer, Mrs Treacher says her love of images influences her writing.
One reviewer wrote on Amazon that she couldn’t put The Wrong Envelope down.
She posted: “I enjoyed it immensely and it left me with a desire to know what happens next and a real curiosity about certain characters’ pasts. Her writing and story telling are delightful.”
