Craft and produce market will be the first event to be held at renovated Rogart Mart since its official opening by King Charles III
The recently renovated Rogart Mart is to hold its very first craft and produce market.
The event takes place on Saturday, October 22, from 10am to 2pm.
Rogart Development Trust spearheaded the conversion of the historic mart into a space for traditional music, cultural and other events.
A spokeswoman said: “Please join us for the very first market day in the newly refurbished Rogart Mart.
“We hope to be able to offer a range of local produce, including honey, eggs, home baking, home pickles and jams, as well as craft items made in the Highlands. Teas and coffees will be available on the day”.
The mart had a high-profile opening in early August when the then Prince Charles, now King Charles III following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, performed the honours.
He cut a ribbon to declare the mart officially open and was shown round the historic space which still bears the hallmarks of its heyday when up to 1200 lambs were sold in a single day. The tiered seating is intact and photographs depicting its history adorn the walls.
His Royal Highness also met members of the trust as well as the sons and grandsons of the mart’s founders.
