NC500 hotspot Corrieshalloch Gorge bridge closed due to ‘potential structural issue’
NC500 hotspot, Corrieshalloch Gorge near Ullapool, has announced the bridge’s closure ‘until further notice’.
The Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve was given a £3.1m facelift in 2023, which included £10,000 of maintenance works on the suspension bridge over the gorge.

The National Trust for Scotland (NTS), which manages the Wester Ross landmark, has stated that “investigations” are taking place due to a “potential structural issue” with the bridge.
They said: “As a precaution, the bridge over Corrieshalloch Gorge has been closed until further notice. Investigations are underway due to a potential structural issue. Further information will be shared in due course.
“The Gateway to Nature Centre and linked pathways remain open.”
