Confirmed road closures for Inverness Half Marathon and Inverness 5K events
Highland Council has confirmed that there will be a large number of road closures due to the Inverness Half Marathon and Inverness 5K events todat – Sunday, including the Infirmary Bridge which will be shut from 9.30am to 430pm.
Organisers issued a detailed route for the events that is the best guide for those not taking part but who wish to attend as spectators or for motorists or cyclists to access certain parts of the city.

The events start at Bught Park with the half marathon starting at 12.30 and the 5K at 12.45 with thousands of runners expected to turn up when the weather will be a brisk 8 degrees celsius with the wind making it feel more like 5.

The route and roads affected:
- Bught Park to Bishops Road, Ness Walk and Ardross Street
- Ardross Street across Ness Bridge
- Ness Bridge to Castle Road (beneath Inverness Castle)
- Castle Road to Ness Bank and Island Bank Road/Dores Road (B862)
- Island Bank Road/Dores Road (B862) to Torbreck Road
- Torbreck Road to Essich Road
- Essich Road to Culduthel Avenue
- Culduthel Avenue to Culduthel Road
- Culduthel Road to Green Drive
- Green Drive back onto Culduthel Road
- Culduthel Road to Lodge Road
- Lodge Road to Drummond Road
- Drummond Road to Lochardil Road
- Lochardil Road to Stratherrick Road
- Stratherrick Road to Holm Road
Runners turn right at Holm roundabout and follow the B862 back into the centre of Inverness, over Ness Bridge and to the finish on the running track at Queens Park Stadium (Inverness Sports Centre).
