Classic car rally heading for Far North
CLASSIC cars will be converging on Caithness and north Sutherland next week at the end of a 1400-mile rally from Land's End.
The 25th Silver Jubilee Anniversary Le Jog Rally begins at the end of this week and 88 cars have entered with crews from 10 different countries. The field includes nine vintage cars, seven of which are Bentleys celebrating the 100th anniversary of the marque.
Locals will get the chance to see these vehicles on December 10 as drivers head to John O'Groats on the final leg of what is described as Europe's toughest classic car rally.
Teams start assembling in Land’s End this Thursday, setting off on Saturday. When they reach Caithness and north Sutherland on the 10th there will be a number of vantage points and stopping-off locations at which they can be viewed.
At 8.20am they will be at the Bettyhill viewpoint, the Melvich Hotel at 8.40am, Castletown beach car park at 9.50am and John O'Groats at 10.30am.
