Business leader to swap North Coast 500 for Cairngorms
The current acting chief of the North Coast 500 will be taking over at the helm of the Cairngorms Business Partnership at the start of next year.
Craig Mills have been chosen to replace out-going CEO Mark Tate in January.
The CBP is the private sector operated Chamber of Commerce and destination management organisation for the Cairngorms National Park and main voice for local businesses.
CBP chair Stuart Broster said: “We are delighted that Craig has agreed to lead the CBP. We were overwhelmed with the tremendous response we had to the opportunity.
“Craig has the perfect mix of experience and enthusiasm to hit the ground running and we very much look forward to welcoming him to the team.
“We would also, as a board, like to take this opportunity to thank Mark for everything he has achieved during his tenure and wish him all the very best for the future.”
Mr Mills has worked for more than six years with NC500, latterly as acting chief executive and prior to that had a career in retail.
He commented: “I am delighted to be taking on this exciting and important role with the CBP.
“Mark has worked incredibly hard over the last eight years.
“I look forward to building on this success with the dedicated team at CBP, the Board and businesses across the Cairngorms.”
The search for a new CEO began in July when Mr Tate announced his intention to move on at the end of this year.
Mr Tate said: “I am delighted that the board has chosen Craig to lead the CBP.
“He has done an amazing job with NC500 and I am confident that the CBP will go on to even greater things with Craig at the helm .
“I have loved working with our team, members and stakeholders over the past eight years and as I start my new business, working more directly with businesses in the national park and beyond, my first task will be to sign up as a CBP member.”
