Burns events in Sutherland - will you be there?





A number of events are being held in Sutherland to commemorate Scotland’s national bard, Rabbie Burns.

Dornoch Heritage Society is once again holding a Burns Supper and ceilidh dance next Friday, January 24, from 7pm. Tickets £20.

Peter Wild, of the society, said: “It is tremendous value for good food, great entertainment and exceptional craic.”

There will also be a Burns Night ceilidh at Lochinver Village Hall on January 24 from 7pm-11pm. Tickets (£8/5) on the door.

Timespan in Helmsdale is holding a Burns supper and quiz next Saturday, January 25, from 6.30pm.

Guests will be offered a dram on arrival and the Made in Helmsdale Choir will sing a few Burns songs to start the evening.

The Selkirk Grace and the Address to the haggis will follow before the traditional meal.

And the annual Burns Supper and ceilidh dance is back at Brora Scout and Guide Hall on Saturday, February 1, from 7pm.
