BREAKING: Police Scotland says A9 is closed in both directions after road crash near Dornoch north of Inverness

A crash has closed the A9 in both directions near Dornoch in Sutherland with emergency services at the scene.

The accident was reported to police at around 3.15pm today.

It happened at the junction with the B9168.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “The A9 is closed in both directions following the crash which was reported to police around 3.15pm.

“Emergency services are in attendance and drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible.”

It is not known as yet whether there were any casualties. The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue service say they are not involved in the emergency.
