A9 closed near Aviemore after vehicle fire with police, fire and ambulance crews at scene

A vehicle fire has closed the A9 near Aviemore.
The stretch of the Inverness-Perth route just south of the town is closed in both directions according to Traffic Scotland.
Emergency services are at the scene and diversions are in place.
As yet, there is no indication whether there have been any casualties.
The incident was first reported by the agency just after 5.30 am.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area if possible and find an alternative route.
A Traffic Scotland spokesman said: “The A9 at Aviemore is currently closed in both directions due to a vehicle fire. Drivers are advised to use an alternative route at this time.”
