Established in 1997, the Golspie-based charity provides respite and support to young people in Sutherland aged between five and 25 who have a caring role at home.

TYKES also advocates for young carers and raises awareness of their issues by working with the community, statutory agencies, and other organisations.

Megan knew she wanted to support TYKES after hearing about the unique service they provide from her mother Sarah, who visited the TYKES stall at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

Megan said: “Thank you to the local community and my family for supporting me on my journey to achieving my goal.”

She added: “The spiced pumpkin was a hit! I’m currently looking into other fundraising ideas.”

TYKES manager Denise Campbell, said: “Megan has a bright future ahead of her as a community volunteer. Her efforts have been fantastic, and we are very grateful for her fundraising for TYKES.

“The funds will be used to provide fun respite activities for young carers across Sutherland.”
