Body of man found near Tongue may be missing man

Police can confirm that the body of a man was found in the water near Neave Island, off the coast of Tongue, at just 12.22pm yesterday.

The family of missing person Christopher Strange, who was believed to be in the area, have been informed of this matter.

Cumbria Police had appealed for information about Mr Strange, aged 59, earlier this week.

He was last seen at his home near Kendal on Monday morning.

Confirmation of the man's identity will be provided once all next of kin have been contacted.
