Assynt Community Council to contact MSP over Raigmore Hospital car parking difficulties
Assynt Community Council is to write to Highlands and Islands MSP Edward Mountain highlighting the difficulties of parking at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
Community councillor Alex Dickson spoke out about the situation at a recent meeting.
He said: "I was at the hospital some five to six weeks ago and it was absolutely ridiculous. You can go round there for ever and not find a space.
"Parking at Raigmore has doubled yet no spaces are available."
Mr Dickson queried whether the problem was experienced at hospital elsewhere or was specific to Raigmore.
He spoke about a system of bar codes which could possibly be introduced and would serve to cut down on the unauthorised use of the hospital parking area by those not attending hospital appointments or accompanying patients.
Chairman Liam Taylor said he would raise the issue with Mr Mountain.
