A weekend of live music in Sutherland with gigs at Lairg, Bonar Bridge and Rosehall
Music lovers are spoilt for choice this weekend with three live music events in Sutherland at Lairg, Bonar Bridge, and Rosehall.
As featured in last week’s Northern Times, piano and accordion player Rory Matheson, who hails from Drumbeg, joins Highland musicians Gary Innes and Ewen Henderson at Lairg Community Centre tonight from 8pm for an evening of tunes, songs, and stories. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.
Music promoters Sutherland Sessions present Adam Sutherland and John Somerville, supported by Duncan and Rona Macleod at Bonar Bridge Community Hall tomorrow (March 1) from 7.30pm.
The event is part of World Gaelic Week (Seachdain na Gàidhlig). Tickets are also available on Eventbrite.
Both Adam, a fiddler, and John, an accordionist, come from Loch Ness side, and the concert is a rare opportunity to hear superb musicians playing their own tunes.
Brother and sister Duncan and Rona Macleod need no introduction, as they are well known locally for their tunes on fiddle and piano.

And to round off the weekend, saxophonist Ian Millar and pianist Dominic Spencer will be at Rosehall Village Hall on Sunday, as part of their Jazz in the Village events. Doors open 7pm.
