Two vehicle crash closes north-west Highland road east of Lochinver near Ardvreck Castle

A two-vehicle crash has closed a north-west Highland road in both directions.

The accident happened at around 11 am on the A837, roughly eight miles north of Ledmore junction near the junction with the A894 and not far from Ardvreck Castle.

It is not known as yet if there are any casualties, but emergency services remain at the scene

A Police spokesman said: “Northbound traffic can use the A894, but there is no diversion available southbound.

“Drivers are urged to avoid the area.”
