BREMNER (Brora). Richard passed away suddenly, at home on Tuesday, 6th May, 2025, aged 69 years. Much loved brother of Roslyn and the late Barnie, Eunice and Douglas, brother-in-law to Jim, Jane and Linda and good friend to many. BAILLIE (Brora). Passed away suddenly, at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, on Thursday, 1st May, 2025, Mavis (nee Paterson), of Rosemount, Rosslyn Street, Brora. Much loved wife of the late Donnie and cherished mother of Glenda. A loving sister, aunt, friend and neighbour. She will be greatly missed. Private cremation at Mavis's request.

CUTTING (Rearquhar, Dornoch, formerly Romaldkirk, Barnard Castle). Jon-Paul, known as Paul, passed away peacefully, after a short battle bravely fought, with Jane and Lesley by his side, at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, on Sunday, 27th April, 2025, aged 53 years. Beloved husband of Jane, cherished son of Jim and Lesley and a good friend and colleague to many. Paul will be sorely missed by all who knew him. MACLEOD Peacefully, on 18th April, 2025, after a short illness, at home in France with her family by her side, Sheila Macleod, aged 80 years, daughter of the late Edward (Ted) and Hilda Wood of Achneiskich, Bettyhill. CARROLL (Dingwall). Denise Carroll, of Castle Gardens, Dingwall, beloved wife and mother, passed away, peacefully, on Wednesday, 23rd April, 2025, at the age of 76. Her final days were spent in the company of her family, friends and the staff of Strathallan House, to whom the family express their thanks. A service of remembrance will be held at D. ROSS (Brora). It is with deep sadness that the family announce the passing of Hamish Ross (Plumber), aged 80, peacefully at Cambusavie Unit, Golspie on Monday, 21st April, 2025. WHETTON Margaret Elizabeth Whetton (nee Mackay). Following her death last September at Kirkcaldy Royal Infirmary and subsequent cremation at Inverness on 16th October, 2024, Margaret's ashes will, at her own wish, be interred in the grave of her parents, Hector and Helen Mackay, in Scourie Cemetery at 11.30am on Tuesday, 15th April. The internment will be conducted by a humanist service and marked by family flowers only.

MELVILLE (Golspie). Alfred Gairfield Melville 'Freddie' passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side, at Raigmore Hospital, on Tuesday, 1st April, 2025, aged 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Annie, loving dad of the late Alan, cherished granda of Kelly and Josh, great-granda of Freddie, much loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle and a good friend to many. PORTEOUS Sallie (Tyszko). It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sallie. After recent years living with cancer, she died on 27th March, 2025, with her loving husband John by her side. A true original, we are filled with gratitude for her incredible storied life. Sallie had a lifelong passion for animals for which she was a devoted keeper, rescuer and advocate. A talented tapestry artist and a beloved friend to many, she will be deeply missed. A celebration of Sallie's life will be held on 10th April, in Great Bernera Community Centre, at 2pm. To honour her joyful love of colour, we invite all who wish to attend to wear colourful casual attire. Please join us for refreshments and food afterwards. Accommodation can be provided for those travelling from the mainland. In lieu of flowers we invite people to make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Suddenly in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, on Sunday, 23rd March, 2025, Joan "Joey" Bain, formerly of Lower Gledfeild Farm, Ardgay, a dearly loved sister-in-law of Helen, a loving aunt of Carol and loved by all the extended family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Tom and a cherished friend to many over her lifetime.
